Suma’s Features

Suma’s features have been divided below into two categories: those requiring a license which are optional, and those that do not require a license and thus are always available in the product.

Licensed Features:

The following features need a license to be used in production mode. Without a license, you may still use these features but they will be operating in test mode which is useful if you would like to evaluate them before purchasing a license. Licenses can be purchased from the Suma shop.

  • Suma Plugin is the base-level version of the product: i.e. the product without any Payment Modules activated.  All of the non-licensed features mentioned below are included for your use.  However, without purchasing any of the Payment Modules (Onsite, Hosted or Donations) you’ll not be able to process any payments and therefore the website will be a membership-only website.
  • Onsite Payment Module allows users to pay with their Credit/Debt card on your site when subscribing to your Paid Subscription Plans or use their PayPal account (if any).  To use the functionality of this module requires you have a merchant account with PayPal (specifically, a Website Payments Pro (US) account).
  • Hosted Payment Module allows users to pay with their PayPal account when subscribing to your Paid Subscription Plans. An advantage of this module is that you only need a Premiere or Business class account with PayPal.
  • Donations Module allows users to leave a donation for you during the registration process.  This module only requires that you have a Premiere or Business class account with PayPal.  It can be used by itself or in combination with the Onsite or Hosted Payment Modules.
  • White Label feature removes the “Powered by Suma” tagline from the footer of Suma generated forms displayed to users.

Included Features:

The following features are not licensed individually but are included as part of the core of Suma.

  • Content Access Control is a core feature of Suma allowing access to posts and pages to be restricted to those users who have subscribed to the requisite subscription plan.
  • Short Codes for Suma are available and provide fine-grain control over the visibility of individual elements of content in the body of a post or page.
  • Promotional/Access Codes allow access to Subscription Plans to be restricted to users who know the access code or have the promotional code.  This allows special Subscription Plans to be created which are not otherwise visible to the general public.
  • Guest Plans and Subscription Plans
  • Customizable Registration Process
  • Terms of Service display
  • Themed User Account Pages
  • Suma Admin Log
