Suma Plugin

The Suma plugin includes its own Login Widget. Although its use is optional, if you choose not to use it then you should still at least provide the same hyperlinks to your subscribers as the Login Widget does as these lead to important User Account Management pages.

The Suma Login Widget

The purpose of this Login Widget is to conveniently offer hyperlinks (shortcuts) to Suma-specific user account management pages for users who signed up through Suma.  These links and their target pages are shown below.

The above User management pages are all generated by Suma for Subscribers who registered via Suma.  When a Wordpress user who wasn’t registered via Suma accesses the site (e.g. the administrator or users the administrator has manually added to the system, or users who have created accounts in the system other than through registering via Suma) then they will be given the default Wordpress Dashboard-themed profile page to update their password or email address and will not be provided any links to Subscriptions or Payment History (which makes no sense in that context).

If you do choose to use Suma’s Login Widget then you can activate it the same as you would any other Wordpress Widget; from the Wordpress Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets panel, select Suma Login Widget from Available Widgets and drag to the desired Sidebar section.

If you choose not to use Suma’s Login Widget then you should still provide your subscribers with the links to these important account management pages.  The links are static and thus can be hard-coded into your website.

If you have completed these steps then you’ve installed and activated Suma.  From this point on you will be able to configure Suma to your website’s specific needs.  Configuring Suma is the subject of the next section: The Operations Guide.
